Dailie keeps your money, tasks and rewards. That is personal information, and this page says plainly what we store, why, where it lives, who helps us run it, and how you can see it or have it deleted. There is no advertising in Dailie, no analytics, and nothing is sold.

Who we are

Dailie is provided by Peistola Niko Tuomas (Private trader) (business ID 2847202-6), Hämeenlinna, Finland. We are the controller of the personal data described here, which means we decide how it is used and are responsible for it.

For anything about your data, write to hello@dailie.app. A person reads it.

What we collect

Your account

Your name, your email address and a user ID. If you sign up with a password, it is held by our sign-in provider (Firebase Authentication) as a salted hash; we never see it. If you continue with Google, we receive your name, email address, profile picture and Google account ID from Google.

What you put in

Tasks and their repeat schedules, budgets, envelopes, transactions and repeating entries, rewards, redemption requests and points. Also your level, experience and the creatures you have collected, your check-in streak if you turn it on, and your settings — language, time zone and which features are shown.

Your household, if you share one

The household’s name, who is in it and each member’s role (adult or kid), the invite codes used to join, and the lists, budgets and rewards you have chosen to share.

Reminders

If you turn on notifications, a push token for that browser and a label for it such as “Chrome on macOS”, so you can tell your devices apart. We use them only to send the reminders you asked for.

Google Calendar

If you connect your calendar, an access token from Google, which we store encrypted and use only to write Dailie’s own events into your calendar. We do not read your other events. Disconnecting deletes the token.

Payments

If you subscribe, Stripe takes your payment. Your card details go to Stripe and never reach us. We keep your Stripe customer ID and the state of your subscription, so the app knows who has Premium.

Technical logs

Our servers record each request — including your IP address, the time and what was asked for — to keep the service running and secure and to investigate faults.

Why we use it

We use your information for these purposes, on these legal grounds:

  • To provide Dailie to you — your account, your data, sharing, reminders and Premium. This is necessary to perform our agreement with you.
  • Push notifications and Google Calendar run only because you turned them on. That is your consent, and you can withdraw it at any time by turning them off.
  • Security and fixing faults, using the technical logs. This is our legitimate interest in keeping the service working and safe.
  • Payment records are kept because accounting law requires it.

We do not use your data for advertising, we do not build profiles of you, and we do not sell or rent it to anyone.

What other people can see

Everything you create is private to you until you share it. Sharing is something you do to one list, one budget or one rewards catalogue at a time, and the app marks which is which.

When you join a household, its other members can see your name, your role, your household points, and anything you add to a shared list, budget or catalogue — including who added it. They cannot see your private data, and neither can a household admin. That is enforced by the database’s access rules, not by a setting in the app.

The AI helpers

Premium includes two optional helpers: scanning a receipt and describing a task in a sentence. When you use one, the photo or text you give it is sent to Google’s Vertex AI (Gemini) to be read, and what comes back is shown to you as a draft that you confirm or discard. Nothing is saved until you confirm it.

Receipt photos are never stored — not by us, and not in any file storage. Google processes these requests on our behalf, under its terms for Google Cloud customers.

Who helps us run Dailie

We use a small number of service providers to run Dailie. They process data only on our instructions and under data processing agreements.

  • Google Cloud and Firebase (Google Ireland Ltd.) — sign-in, the database, the app’s servers, push notifications, the AI helpers and logs.
  • Stripe (Stripe Payments Europe Ltd.) — payments and subscriptions, if you subscribe.
  • Google Calendar — only if you connect it, and only to write Dailie’s events into your own calendar.
  • Cloudflare — DNS for our domains. It answers where dailie.app is; your traffic does not pass through it.

Where your data is

Your data is stored in the European Union. The database and the API run in Google Cloud’s Frankfurt region (Germany); the web app, the AI helpers and the subscription functions run in its Netherlands region.

Some of our providers are part of groups based in the United States, and some processing — sign-in and payments, for example — can take place outside the EU. Where it does, the transfer is covered by the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses or the EU–US Data Privacy Framework.

How long we keep it

  • Your account and what you put in are kept for as long as you have an account.
  • When you ask us to delete your account, we delete it and your private data within 30 days. Things you added to a shared household list or budget belong to that household’s records, so they stay for its other members; tell us if you want any of them removed as well, and we will.
  • Push tokens are removed as soon as the browser reports them as no longer valid.
  • Technical logs are deleted automatically after 30 days.
  • Payment records are kept for as long as accounting law requires.

Cookies and browser storage

Dailie uses no tracking cookies and no analytics, so there is no cookie banner. The app keeps a few things in your browser because it cannot work without them:

  • your sign-in session, kept by Firebase Authentication;
  • your light or dark theme choice, and an ID for the device if you turn on reminders;
  • an invite code, for the moment between opening an invite link and signing in.

This website, dailie.app, stores nothing in your browser at all.

Children

An adult can invite their children into a household. A child’s account is created through that invite, and the adult who sends it is responsible for giving consent on the child’s behalf where the law requires it. Children can see only what their household has shared and their own private data, and they can never add to or change any budget.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to:

  • get a copy of the personal data we hold about you;
  • have it corrected if it is wrong;
  • have it deleted;
  • receive the data you gave us in a machine-readable format;
  • object to, or ask us to restrict, how we use it;
  • withdraw consent you have given, without affecting what happened before.

To use any of these rights, write to hello@dailie.app from the email address on your account. We answer within one month. You can change your name, preferences, notifications and calendar connection yourself in the app’s settings.

If you think we have handled your data wrongly, you can complain to the data protection authority where you live or work. We would rather hear from you first.

Changes to this policy

When this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it. If a change affects what we collect or who we share it with, we will tell you in the app before it takes effect.
